J&M Davidson began with a desire to create belts, inspired by equestrian bridles for their high-quality leather and durability. The first belt was launched in 1984 and was an overnight success.
40 years later and belts are still at the core of our identity with our signature Envelope Buckle Plaited Belt still sold today. Originally, all of our belts were made in England but over the years, most of our manufacturing has moved to Spain and Italy. A small selection of belts are still made in England with a bridle maker, following a traditional method similar to the first-ever belts designed by John and Monique.
