Inspiration in Isolation | Emily Barrett
Emily Frances Barrett is an artist and jeweller based in East London. A self taught jeweller, she works intuitively with materials from precious metals and stone, to found, organic objects such as flowers, shells, feathers, mud larked clay pipes and river worn glass.
With her unusual approach she creates unique pieces, which are both refined yet imperfect and full of intrigue, woven with stories from another place and time.

'... so called the brooches, 'Hoarder Brooches'. I'm a terrible magpie, I just find materials are always the start of my ideas. So naturally I collect a lot of things... feathers, buttons, beads, trimmings, chains, fabrics, shells, stones, threads, string, general rubbish like corks and teh wire off of a wine and champagne bottles, can pulls... anything that gives me an idea of something I can do with it.'
